Yes, you read that right. We did the “crazy” thing and so far we have no regrets. Although, our journey hasn’t officially started bring full time in our RV, it sure does feel like it. Selling all of our belongings and listing the house for sale has been a full time job in and of itself since we quit our day jobs. Some have called us crazy, others are envious, and some wonder how long it will last. To be honest, we’ve had those thoughts ourselves. What is this “crazy” thing we’ve done? Allow me to paint a picture of our soon to be new life…
You wake up in the morning to the sounds of nature and your spouse brewing a cup of coffee. You walk your dogs in a new place every few weeks. You see things you’ve never seen before, visit places you’ve never been, and experience things you only dreamed of. You have the flexibility to visit family on a whim. You take your home with you everywhere you go. You spend your evenings by the fire stargazing and planning where you’ll go next. You experience life to its fullest and take it all in one day at a time.
Of course, this is only how we picture it going. We know that this new lifestyle will throw us all sorts of curveballs and we are mentally preparing for that. Living in an RV full time and traveling will be a whole new ballgame that we have never played in before. However, we are up for the challenge and I think this is just what we need at this stage in our lives. We recently got married on December 10, 2022 and we are eager to start our lives together. We are definitely leaving behind some people we love dearly and will miss so much. However, we know that this new adventure will increase our ability to see many other friends and family members that we haven’t seen in so long, and for that we are grateful.
So are we crazy to take our dogs Marley and Maxwell as well as our cat Ember on the road with us? Maybe. Are we crazy to have quit our jobs, sold all of our stuff and listed the house for sale? Maybe. But are we crazy for not wanting to live a life of monotony and instead moving towards actually pursuing our dreams together? I think not!
Follow along on our journey here as we keep you up to date on our travels, triumphs, and tribulations as we face RV life head on! More to come soon!
Until next time,
Wise Nomads
